I worked as a quality tester for the doomed Cablevision VOOM HD project in the early days of HDTV. Plus I've owned three other HDTVs (2 DLP and 1 LCD) since then, so i have a base to compare - not my first experience with Hi-Def TV. This Mitsubishi WD-73838 is a monster compared to my old 50 inch Samsung (see pic). The overall picture on this set is excellent, but i would not say that the picture quality is THAT much better than my 3-year old Samsung HL-T5076S (also 3D capable). Back then, it was a very good set for picture quality and even today it can still hang with the best of them.
